These rib-and-faux-cable cuffs add visual interest to basic wellies. These tubes are not leg warmers; they simply fold over boot tops. Knit themin loads of colors tomatch your leggings.

MATERIALS
Donegal Tweed by Tahki Yarns/Tahki•Stacy Charles, Inc., 3½oz/100g hanks, each approx 183yd/167m (wool)
• 1 hank in #851 green
• Size 8 (5mm) circular needle 12"/30cm long, OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Stitch marker

KNITTED MEASUREMENTS
• Width over faux cable section 15½"/39.5cm
• Length 8"/20.5cm

GAUGE
18 sts and 22 rnds to 4"/10cm over faux cable/rib pat using size 8 (5mm) needles

FAUX CABLE/RIB PAT - (multiple of 5 sts)

Rnds 1 and 2 *P1, k3, p1; rep from * around.

Rnd 3 *P1, sl 1 purlwise wyib, k2, pass the slipped st over the k2, p1; rep from * around.

Rnd 4 *P1, k1, yo, k1, p1; rep from * around.

Rep rnds 1–4 for faux cable/rib pat.

* Note:  Pattern begins and ends with a p1 for a neater join at the beg of rounds.

TOPPERS (make 2)

Cast on 70 sts. Join, taking care not to twist sts. Place marker for beg of rnd and sl marker every rnd.

Work in faux cable/rib pat for 20 rnds.

Cont in rib only (rep rnd 1) until piece measures 8"/20.5cm from beg.

Bind off in rib.
